I'm deciding my next project (despite still having several on the needles) and in doing so, I wanted to review my stash. So here's the situation:
- enough laceweight for one large shawl and one scarf
- enough sock yarn for 14 pairs of socks (but at least one skein is too nice for socks)
- two sweater quantities
- 13 single skeins that are mostly 'unearmarked', some of which are leftovers and up for trade or sale, should anyone ever want or need them!
- another 5 yarns in multiple skiens, low volume 'sets', also unearmarked.
It doesn't seem too bad like that. I thought there was more laceweight than there is, and more sweater sized lots... and less sock yarn. I have no idea what I'm going to do with a lot of those single skeins, some are gifts, some are souvenirs, and I don't feel I should give them away, despite the lack of ideas.
This also doesn't count anything that is currently on the needles. That's list is short, so I'll add it here (and probably forget a thing or two):
- Noro silk garden sock shawl
- Printed silk cardigan
- Party lace cowl
Is that it? Surely not. There is a sock from way back when, but that's officially a UFO. And I can't think of anything else. Shocking!

I don´t want to go there! I get nervous enough just thinking about my stash page on Ravelry. Every time there´s a parcel for me my bf asks "Is that more yarn? One day I´m going to come home to find they´ve (TIK) sent you over your own sheep to be done with it!"
I've just had a look through my stash as well. I always thought I had quite a small stash, really, but...I kept finding stuff I didn't even remember I had. Embarrassing.
And what to do with all those odds and ends? A skein here, half a ball there, in clashing colours and different weights.
I just spent almost two hours organising my stash this morning...I definitely have a lifetime time of entertainment value
That is a pretty small stash. I am starting to think that I may have reached SABLE but that doesn't really stop me from buying more...
Maybe an intervention really is needed.
